Close your eyes and picture your “happy place.” Is it a plush lounge chair on white-sand beach? A hammock and a Corona? A picnic blanket in an open field of tall, golden grass? For me it is a French bistro and a strong espresso. Of course being in a detail-oriented field, my imagination extends past the basic place and beverage. The details are all there- a carerra marble-topped round table with an antique brass rim, the red and white striped linen napkin, and my favorite: the classic bistro chair. Sometimes the weave is hunter-green and beige and other times it is brown and white. Despite the colors, the bistro chair is ALWAYS in the forefront of my contented thoughts.
(Shockingly) comfortable and timelessly classic, bistro chairs have transformed from a staple at Parisian cafes to accents in the modern home. Below are a few of my favorites available in the States and the Southern Hemisphere. It proves that Paris might have the cafes but the look works worldwide, from coast to coast, from the formal dwelling to a casual corner.
